DenSureFit Upper Denture Reline Kit

Here’s how to use the DenSureFit Upper Denture Reline Kit. To achieve a snug fit on the upper denture, most people will need 2 silicone applicators. The full kit is essential for achieving an excellent initial fit. But what are the extra silicone and Snug-Up Tip for? Even with a great initial fit with DenSureFit, some people experience looseness a few days or weeks later. What could be causing this loosening after a reline? It could be due to gum shrinkage, particularly for those within the first 18 months post-extraction, or a reduction of inflammation in the gums. This inflammation can occur without the individual being consciously aware of it, often from hitting or rubbing of the gums on hard acrylic, medication, or other situations.

So, what is a Snug-Up application? It is a method that allows you to snug the denture back up without the need to remove and reapply the DenSureFit liner. More silicone can be applied over the existing liner to fill the new void and snug the denture back up again. This procedure is fully explained in the instruction booklet. However, it is important that the silicone liner is in good condition and bacteria-free in order to add more to it. This means it should be properly soaked and cleaned in a denture cleanser daily, free from lifting or tears.

If your denture is very loose, you can use the entire applicator of silicone all at once for a Snug-Up. You can save the Snug-Up Tip for future use or use half of the applicator when you are a little loose, following the Snug-Up instructions in the booklet.
